TACOMA, Wash. (Metro)  -- Newly released journals are making it clear Steven Powell was obsessed with his daughter-in-law. 

Authorities yesterday gave "The News Tribune" in Tacoma close to three-thousand pages of journals and investigative reports tied to the Powell family. 

Steven Powell wrote that he was in love with Susan Cox Powell and secretly recorded her. 

She vanished in 2009 from her West Valley City home. 

Her husband, Josh Powell, killed their two young sons and himself earlier this year.
