LYNDEN, Wash. -- A Whatcom County man was arrested Saturday night after police say he brutally attacked and raped his ex-girlfriend.
After spending the day talking, Lynden Police Deputy Chief John Billester says 28-year-old Joshua Jeklin drove the victim to a storage unit in Lynden where he confronted her with a knife and threatened to kill her.
He bound the woman with duct tape, carved words across her stomach, and violently raped her.
Billester says Jeklin then drove the victim home, where a family member called police.
A Whatcom County Sheriff's Deputy went to Jeklin's home on Timon Road, and found him still sitting in his car.
Joshua Jeklin was booked into Whatcom County Jail on investigation of first degree rape and attempted murder.
