LYNDEN, Wash. -- Northwest Washington Fair organizers are saying that hot weather, and not the added security, likely kept fair attendance down compared to recent years.
Fair general manager Jim Baron defends the new security policy, saying police and security guards did not use racial profiling when they removed visitors from the fairgrounds.
Baron also says the people who were trespassed were of different races.
He's pleased the fair ended without any major incidents. Nearly 204,000 people attended the fair, which ran from August 13-18.
