BLAINE, Wash. -- A condominium project in Semiahmoo that was put on hold with the collapse of the housing market in 2008 is holding a ground-breaking celebration today.
Ground-breaking on Building 2 at Marin Condominiums in Semiahmoo will be open to the public this afternoon.
Managing partner with the project Joe O'Brien says it's a sign that the real estate market is in full recovery.
Obrien says his company, Patten Sales and Marketing, acquires distressed properties from banks and turns them into buyable projects again.
The Florida-based company acquired the Marin project in July.
The ground-breaking celebration for Building 2 at Marin Condominiums begins at 4:30 p.m. with a reception to follow.
The Marin Condos are located at 9525 Semiahmoo Parkway in Blaine.
