LAKEWOOD, Wash. (Metro) -- Authorities say a man who was shot by police while holding 12 people hostage in a Lakewood credit union remains in critical condition.
Officials say the 48-year-old Tacoma man arrived at the Washington State Employees Credit Union branch Saturday afternoon to confront his estranged wife and pulled a gun.
Police say officers surrounded the building, and after about 45 minutes of attempted negotiations, shot the man as he walked in front of a window.
