BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- A 61-year-old Bellingham man is in critical condition after crashing his truck into a ditch Saturday.

Richard Johnson was driving southbound on Lake Louise Road when he lost control of his 1988 Ford Ranger pick up.

State Patrol says Johnson Struck the ditch on the west side of the road and the truck rolled over, landing on its top.

The truck was totaled and Johnson was transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.

Hospital spokeswoman Amy Cloud says Johnson was in critical condition as of yesterday afternoon.

Troopers say Johnson was wearing a seatbelt and it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
