SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. -- A Bellingham woman is hospitalized after running in front of traffic.
Forty-five-year-old David Santiago was driving westbound on Cook Road in Skagit County yesterday afternoon when 50-year-old Sally Higgins ran across the road.
Troopers say Santiago attempted to avoid Higgins by swerving his 2000 Ford Windstar to the left, but ended up hitting her in the eastbound lane.
Higgins was taken to the hospital then transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Troopers cite the cause of the accident as Higgins running across the road and Santiago was not charged.
