Militant U.S. Democrats have taken aim at rapper Nicki Minaj after she suggested she was a fan of Mitt Romney's Republicans in a rhyme on Lil Wayne's new track Mercy.

The hip-hop star has never spoken of her political leanings, but it appears she's not a huge fan of President Barack Obama.

In Wayne's new tune she raps, "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy b**ches are f**king up the economy."

Whatever the true meaning behind the remark, Minaj has upset Obama's supporters, who have taken to various blogs to attack her.

One Democrat called the Super Bass hitmaker a "no talent having a**" in a tweet, while another wrote, "somebody please kill nicki minaj". (KL/WNWC/MT)
