Hunter Hayes playing Hurricane Isaac relief concert
Country singer Hunter Hayes is returning to his hometown in Louisiana on Friday to play a benefit concert for the victims of Hurricane Isaac.
The Wanted hitmaker, who opened for Taylor Swift on her Speak Now World Tour last year, hails from Breaux Bridge, a small city in the southern state, which was hammered by torrential rain and high winds when the category one hurricane made landfall last month.
Now the 20 year old is set to play a special show to raise funds for a New Orleans hospital, and Hayes cannot wait to stage the concert.
He tells the Associated Press, "This is going to be like a huge homecoming celebration for me."
The star, who was recently nominated for a Country Music Association Award, is gearing up for an action-packed weekend - he is due to sing the U.S. National Anthem at the New Orleans Saints' American football season opening game on Sunday on his 21st birthday. (MC/WNWA/KL)
