TACOMA, Wash. (Metro) -- A former Lakewood police officer who embezzled money from a fund set up for the families of four slain police officers now faces new charges.
Pierce County prosecutors say Skeeter Manos is charged with identity theft and forgery after being accused of stealing the identity of an accountant to hide his embezzlement.
Manos pleaded guilty earlier this year to stealing from the Lakewood Police Independent Guild Fund and was sentenced to 33 months in prison.
The fund was established to aid relatives of four Lakewood police officers who were shot to death in 2009.
