BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- A man involved in a 2001 crash that killed a Whatcom County Sheriff’s Deputy is on police radar again.

Bellingham Police Spokesman Mark Young says 30-year-old Adrian Sassen Van Elsloo led police on a high speed chase through Bellingham Friday after a traffic stop.

Sassen Van Elsloo ditched the car and escaped, leaving a passenger behind.

She was not injured.

Sassen Van Elsloo is five-foot-ten, 185 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.

Residents are asked to be alert and contact police with any information.
