EVERETT, Wash. (Metro) -- Trial begins for an Everett woman who's accused of trying to behead her husband.
Prosecutors say 44-year-old Renee Bishop-McKean attempted to cut off her husband's head in October 2011 with a hand held power saw as he slept, but the man awoke in time to fend off her attack.
Authorities say the man was injured when Bishop-McKean allegedly attacked him with a hatchet and a mallet.
Bishop-McKean faces charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault.
