Concern Over Home Gun Business Shocks Lynden Man

LYNDEN, Wash. -- A Lynden man who came under fire for applying to start a home-based gun business near Lynden High School says he didn't expect to become front-page news over the plan.

Jordan Nelson works for BP Cherry Point and has been building guns as a hobby for years.

He says his business would only take special orders for custom-built guns.

Nelson says he and his wife go to the gun range together, and for them shooting is a family event.

Lynden officials will hold a public hearing so neighbors can ask questions about the business on October 11 at the Lynden City Hall Annex on 4th Street.
