State Patrol Debuting New Chevy Caprice

OLYMPIA, Wash.  (Metro)  -- The Washington State Patrol is beginning to replace its aging fleet of Ford Crown Victorias with 200 new Chevrolet Caprices. 

The "Olympian" says the Caprice was picked for its drivability, storage space and cost, which is about $39,000 when fully equipped. 

Each Caprice features radar, a GPS system, cameras, computer docking systems, prisoner cage, spotlights and light bars. 

Around 15 new police cruisers will be put on the road each month.
