OLYMPIA, Wash. (Metro) -- Washington's unemployment rate is up slightly, despite impressive job gains in the construction industry.
The latest report from the state's Employment Security Department says the preliminary, seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for August was 8.6 percent.
In addition to construction, the industries with the most job gains in August were manufacturing, financial activities, education, health services, and government.
