State Parks Seeking Money To Cover New Pass Sale Shortfall

OLYMPIA, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Washington's Parks System is again planning to ask the Legislature to provide more money as sales of the new pay-to-park Discover Pass continue to lag.

It says there's no way the pass sales can make a deadline to make state parks self-supporting by next summer.

"The Olympian" says parks commissioners are asking for $10.5 million to cover existing costs and hopefully restore some park services.
