WA Air Quality Better As Progress On Wildfires Continues

YAKIMA, Wash.  (Metro)  -- For the first time in nearly two weeks, monitors in Central Washington say air quality is getting better as firefighters get a handle on wildfires and cut down on smoke.

Air is still unhealthy around Chelan, but good in Leavenworth, Wenatchee and Yakima.

Air in some Columbia Basin areas is still unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Most of Washington's wildfires this season have been in the central part of the state.
