OLYMPIA, Wash. (Metro) -- A repeat recommendation from the state Board of Education is filtering down to school districts around the state.
It urges them to discontinue use of Native-American mascots.
The board approved a similar resolution in 1993, but it was largely ignored.
Both resolutions use the findings of a 2005 American Psychological Association report that says use of Native-American mascots hurts many students.
