WCC Getting Money For New Cybersecurity Degrees

BELLINGHAM, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Whatcom Community College is getting a half-million dollars to offer new degrees in cybersecurity.

The "Bellingham Herald" reports the grant money is coming from the National Science Foundation.

The new degrees will make it easier for students to transfer their studies to four-year schools.

In fact, WCC is a little ahead of the game.

One of their new degrees is for information assurance, which is security for databases.

No four-year school in Washington offers a degree yet in that field.
