GE Wants More Inspections On Engines For Boeing Jets

EVERETT, Wash.  (Metro)  -- General Electric plans to request a second round of inspections on its airplane engines.

Bloomberg reports an investigation turned up different causes for failures on a Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet and on a 787 Dreamliner.

The company says a service bulletin will be issued "in the next day or two."

Qatar Airways has decided to defer delivery of Dreamliners the company has ordered until the engines are modified.
