Poll Shows Obama's Lead In Washington Larger Than In 2008

WASHINGTON  (Metro)  -- A new statewide poll is giving President Obama an even bigger lead over his GOP rival Mitt Romney than he had over John McCain in 2008.

The survey, commissioned by KING-TV, shows the president has 56 percent support in the state, with Romney garnering only 36 percent.

Should that margin hold through election day, Obama will exceed the vote he got in Washington four years ago.

Survey USA questioned 540 likely voters for the poll.
