Residents Safe After Fire Destroys Bellingham Home

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Residents of a home northeast of Bellingham are safe and warm after their home was destroyed by a fire Tuesday afternoon.

Dana Browne with the Mount Baker chapter of the American Red Cross says their volunteers jumped into action to help the victims...

All of the residents safely escaped from the burning house on Roberts Road near the Deming logging show grounds. No injuries were reported.

Browne says a local Red Cross volunteer will continue to help the residents find more permanent housing.

The friends and family of the victims have started a relief fund, called the "Sires and Solomon Donation Fund," at Whatcom Educational Credit Union.
