2012 Feed The Need Food Drive Starts This Week

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- The 2012 "Feed the Need" community food drive kicks off this week, and our goal this year is the biggest ever.

The Cascade Radio Group, Haggen and Industrial Credit Union are determined to raise 300,000 pounds of food for Whatcom County food banks.

We raised about 275,000 pounds of food last year.

Kim Sutton with ICU says everyone in the community can help.

She says Whatcom County's food banks serve 25,000 people and distribute half a million pounds of food each month.

You can make donations all this week at any Haggen or ICU location, or donate online at www.communityfooddrive.com.

KGMI will be out at the Ferndale Haggen all day Thursday broadcasting live and rallying donations for the 2012 Community Food Drive.
