The King County and Seattle City councils have given final approval to an agreement to build a new sports arena in Seattle's SoDo neighborhood.
Under terms of the deal, the arena would be built with up to $145 million in public financing if promoter Chris Hansen can lure a team to town, and $200 million if he manages to snag two teams.
Officials with the Longshore Union had hoped to stop the council's approval of the deal, saying such an arena would cause traffic nightmares at the Port of Seattle and potentially drive away business.
The union now says it will file a lawsuit to stop the project.
