Whatcom County Auditor Debbie Adelstein says be sure to mark your ballot by connecting the arrows with a single line in blue or black ink.
Adelstein also says Mickey Mouse is not a candidate.
She says don't slow down the count by writing in frivolous names for offices you can’t decide about or in place of candidates you don’t want.
Once you’ve made up your mind, vote your ballot and return it because the earlier ballots are received, the more totals can be released on Election Day.
If you haven't received your ballot by Friday, October 26, you can contact the Whatcom County Auditor’s Election Division at (360) 676-6742.
Ballots must be postmarked no later than November 6 or dropped off at one of the ballot drop boxes by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
