Mountain Snow, Colder Temps Indicate Winter In WA

SEATTLE, Wash. (Metro) -- It's beginning to feel a lot more like winter here in Washington.

The season's first snows arrived in the Cascades over the weekend and nighttime temperatures in the Puget Sound lowlands are now firmly in the 30s.

Washington's Department of Transportation says it's time to start carrying tire chains in the mountains.

It also recommends downloading its Winter Driver Guide and its mobile app to your smartphone.
