Washington Ready To Start Phase-Out Of Brake-Pad Hazards

OLYMPIA, Wash.  (Metro)  -- It looks like our state is going to start phasing out copper and other toxics from brake pads. 

The Washington Department of Ecology says it has just completed two years of work with the automotive industry to develop a certification process for environmentally-friendly brake pads and shoes. 

It says the next step is to develop a groundbreaking state law that could go national.
