Drugs, Alcohol Behind Car Crash In Skagit

SKAGIT, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Troopers say drugs or alcohol may have caused a car crash that injured two people in Skagit County early yesterday morning.

Twenty-six-year-old Steven Traphofner was driving a BMW on Claybrook Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign at Polte Road, leaving the roadway and striking a power pole.

Traphofner and his passenger, 19-year-old Brittany Pederson of Sedro Woolley, were both taken to Skagit Valley Hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
