Maple Falls Girl Hit By Truck, Taken To Hospital

MAPLE FALLS, Wash. -- An 11-year-old Maple Falls girl is hospitalized after she was hit by a pick-up truck on Azure Way.

The State Patrol says 20-year-old Vasiliy Varkentin of Maple Falls was driving Northbound when his truck suddenly left the roadway and hit the girl.

She was waiting for her school bus when she was struck, according to her mother.

Troopers say inattentive driving was to blame for the accident and charges are pending.
