OLYMPIA, Wash. (Metro) -- The first same-sex couples who seek marriage licenses in Washington starting December 6 will have to make do with marriage certificates identifying 'bride and groom.'
"The Seattle Times" says that's because state officials almost certainly won't be able to get gender-neutral documents out in time.
It also says that even when the certificates become available, it will take counties time to reprogram computer systems.
