Local Jewish leaders and the community come together on the Fairhaven Green at 5:30 p.m. Monday to illumine a Torch Menorah, a symbol of the addition of goodness and kindness to the world.
Holocaust survivor and educator Noemi Ban will light several of the candles on the seven foot menorah, which is one of 10,000 being lit today around the world.
Chabad Rabbi Avremi Yarmush of the Rohr Center for Jewish life says that County Executive Jack Louws and State Representative Kristine Lytton will also be on hand to take part in the event.
