Suzan Delbene, a Democrat representing Washington's newly-redrawn 1st District, was sworn in as a member of the 113th congress Thursday.
Delbene says she was disappointed with the way 112th congress handled the so called "fiscal cliff" tax deal.
Delbene was one of 100 women sworn in as members of congress yesterday - a record number.
There are now 80 female members of the House of Representatives along with 20 female senators.
Congressman Rick Larsen representing the 2nd District, which includes Bellingham, said he will focus on creating jobs as he was sworn in to the 113th congress yesterday.
