Alicia Keys to sing national anthem at Super Bowl

Alicia Keys will share the spotlight with her pal Beyonce at the Super Bowl next month - she has been chosen to belt out America's National Anthem prior to the big game.

The Empire State of Mind hitmaker has reportedly been given the honour of singing the Star-Spangled Banner before the NFL Championship Game in New Orleans, Louisiana on 3 February, according to the Associated Press.

Keys will help to kick off the proceedings while Beyonce will hit the stage for the highly-anticipated Super Bowl Halftime show.
Kelly Clarkson performed the national anthem at last year's big game, while Madonna provided the entertainment at halftime.
