Bellingham Holds Annual MLK Day Celebration

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Bellingham's annual celebration of the life and contributions of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held at noon today.

Janice Keller with the mayor's office says the celebration is a Bellingham tradition, and a chance to honor civil rights and diversity in our area.

The event will also include speeches by Mayor Kelli Linville and Whatcom County Superior Court Judge Deborra Garrett.

This annual celebration has been held in a variety of locations during its more than 20 year history, and this year it will take place at Bellingham City Hall.

If you're not able to get there in person, the event will be filmed and aired later on BTV10.

The video also will be posted on the city website, www.cob.org, for on demand viewing.
