Seattle Parks Board Opposes Coal Trains

SEATTLE, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Seattle's Parks Board is wasting no time on the upcoming Puget Sound-area coal train issue. 

It is already formally opposing Gateway Pacific's plan to put up to 18 coal trains a day through Seattle on their way to and from a new coal export terminal at Cherry Point near Bellingham. 

The board argues that the 100 car trains would cause pollution, park access delays and reduced property values and could cause accidents.
