Olympia, Wash. -- State Senator Kevin Ranker is looking to protect and rebuild the state’s higher education system.
On Wednesday, Ranker introduced three bills to the legislature in an effort to help students reach their desired college degrees.
He says over the past five years the legislature has damaged the reputation of the state’s four-year universities.
Ranker’s trio of bills would make the credit limit flexible for the State Needs Grants Program, allowing students to pursue the courses they need.
They would also make transferring from a two-year to a four-year college easier and ensure undergraduate tuition rates are the same for all majors.
