Whatcom County Home Sales Rise, While Prices Fall

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. -- In what may be some positive news for the real estate market, local home sales were up last month compared to the same time last year.
According to the Northwest Multiple Listing Service, 225 homes were sold in Whatcom County in the month of October.
This is in comparison to just 173 home sales in October of 2008.
The median price of those homes is a different story.
Prices slipped down nearly $14,000 to an average of just under $259,000.
