Kershner Takes Lead Over McShane In County Race

kgmi@kgmi.com

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- The leaders in two races have changed after another count of Whatcom County election ballots.

For the first time, Kathy Kershner is leading Dan Mcshane in a County council race.

Kershner has a 223-vote advantage.

The council contest between Carl Weimer and Luke has also tightened up, but Weimer still has 979 ballot lead.

The gap between yes and no in the Whatcom County Library District’s tax increase proposal has been widened to more than 800 votes, as it’s looking more likely that the measure will be approved.

The lead has also changed in a Ferndale city council race – Brent Goodrich has 23 more votes than Keith Olson.
