High Winds Cause Changes to Lummi Ferry Crossing

WHATCOM COUNTY,Wash. -- High winds have hit the Lummi Island ferry dock hard, causing damage and forcing inconvenient changes for island residents.

The Lummi Island ferry is running and allowing vehicles on board again this morning.

The Whatcom Chief was shut down for a time Thursday night.

While the ferry was operating, no vehicles were allowed to board.

Cars will be able to cross on the ferry today until about 7:40p.m., when passenger only service will resume.
