WHATCOM COUNTY,Wash. -- Ballots will be counted today for school elections in Washington, including several in Whatcom County.
A total of 165 school districts are asking voters to approve more than 4.6 billion dollars in property taxes for maintenance and operation levies, including the Ferndale and Lynden School Districts.
11 districts have bond issues worth 859 million dollars on ballots, including the Meridian School District.
Ballots must be postmarked no later than today.
Voters can also drop off ballots today at the Ferndale Library, the Lynden Library or the Laurel Fire Station on the Guide Meridian.
